Who is Dolphin?
Dolphin has been creating software solutions for people with visual and print impairments since 1986.
Since we began, Dolphin products have enabled hundreds of thousands of customers to enjoy the same level of independence as their peers. Dolphin now exports to more than thirty countries, with offices in the UK, US and Sweden. Dolphin employs over sixty people worldwide to create and deliver the widest variety of software products for people with print and visual impairments.
Dolphin is a privately owned company and over one third of our annual gross revenue is re-invested in the design and development of our products.

What's so special about Dolphin?
Dolphin's roots are in assistive technology and we are proud to have developed one of the first commercial screen readers. Since those early days we have helped to shape the industry with innovations like:
- Supernova, the only combined magnification, speech and Braille software.
- The Dolphin Pen, to carry your Dolphin access software and plug into a USB slot in any PC.
- Pocket Hal, access software from Dolphin that works on a PDA.

Our alt format division is dedicated to making text accessible in a way that is meaningful to people with visual and print impairments. Dolphin has been at the core of DAISY (Digital Accessible Information Systems) development since the DAISY standard was conceived back in 1996. We developed the first software to make DAISY a reality. Since then our tools, which include production tools to create DAISY books and reading tools to play them back, are leading the way to new frontiers of accessibility for anyone who is either visually or print impaired.
